By Della Monroe

In traveling, we have different means of transportation in the sea, air, and land. We are able to experience them depending with the situation, its availability, or the distance of the place that we are about to visit. They are the essence of traveling and whatever you choose between the three, we are pretty sure that we still enjoy the ride.

We all know that they are our ways in reaching the destination but they can be the attraction themselves. Most common example is the sail boat transport because we can use them for our own personal needs. They are most likely to be seen in the sea where they will start cruising and enjoying their moment there.

This kind of leisure has started a long time ago and has improve over time. It started a transport of trade, means of livelihood like fishing and as a warfare. It advance during the Middle age where it can travel further and can withstand storms and strong winds.

You can buy your own if you have enough resources, there are things that can be done if you own one than renting. You can sail to any places and anytime because there will be no one to stop you. You can find shops or store that can help you if there will be damages or you want to renovate your boat.

If you have money but it is not enough to buy your own then you can rent one. A good thing about renting is that you can still enjoy its features and can save money because not all of times you will do sailing. But it has limitations depending with the deal that you have with the owner.

There are plenty kinds of sailboat and try learning some so that you can find the one suits your taste. We have these Catboat and Cutter, its difference is that the catboat has a single mount and does not needs a jib. While a cutter is a racing type but are use mostly to cruising because of its durability.

We have this type where it is used for recreation and sail training also known as Dinghy. A schooner has a mainmast taller than its foremast. We have the most popular one the Sloop, it is very efficient for sailing into the wind and they are easy to manage.

There are two fundamental techniques that are useful if you want to do it yourself. You need to learn trimming because it is the part where you will balance the boat and lead to the right angle. Jibing is as important as trimming because this is the time you will be controlling the wing by using the jib.

This can be a great recreational activity for you and your family. You are not just enjoying but it become a way of building stronger bonds with someone who has the same interest as yours. No matter where you will reach or the kind of activity you have been doing throughout your travel, it is till worth because of the memories created.
