Tolls practices affected many people especially the neighbors. Through their activities, they defaulted on their contractual obligations and defined the Michigan law. Many people who contracted with the Tolls had various issues especially on the pricing of the contracts. There are therefore various complaints and reviews about Toll brothers, which were given out by the different individuals affected.

Some contractor and customers stated that the developments of contractors are always overpriced and most of their staffs tend to be overworked. The individual who are involved in the constructions criticized the minimum deception as well as negligent. A client from Las Vegas complained that the company overstated their square footage of the home they wished to buy by 293 square feet. Three weeks after they moved in, a 30 feet building was built behind the house hindering there view towards the mountain viewing. This was against their wish and they complained to the Toll Brothers.

The client thus placed a complained to the Vice president who had promised that the house would not exceed 10 feet. The reply she got was a little shocking to her. The VP told her that she had not stated anywhere in the agreement that she wanted to view the mountain at any point of her living. The sales individual also stated the same when she approached her.

On November 6 2015, a client from Warrington had a review on the Brothers operation. The customer stated that people who live near the development site of the company were facing harsh and noisy times during the companies operation. The trucks at the site tilled the green vegetation making the area very a dry premise. The firm was also accused of selling the top soils of the area.

Another criticism which came from Lodi, Florida stated that a client had bought an apartment but found that the pavements were not appealing since there were grasses all over, mold, as well as ponding.
